Weston Ochse

I lost another brother today. We weren’t born of the same mother and didn’t even meet until late in life, but I still call him my brother. We bonded over shared experiences as veterans.

As I get older, the brothers and sisters who have shared our collective service will naturally become fewer. I know that one day I will join them. That doesn’t make the loss any less personal.
I first met Weston Ochse at Tuscon, the best little science fiction convention in the world, twelve years ago. He was a fairly well-known author and I was a first time wanna-be, but he immediately put me at ease, gave me advice and encouragement and we spent a lot of time talking about our experiences in the military. Over the years he became a good friend. I am proud to have known him. I will miss him
